I'm using Linux and my wife's laptop didn't take the 6.0 -> 6.1 beta when I tried it, so I can't say for sure if the "Not active yet" issue goes away when the Cybook is recognized as a reader.
Derek, I don't necessarily intend to get lots of ebooks from the library instead of the store either, but having more options is always a good thing. And since it was my first attempt at using the Cybook for DRM encrypted books I was rather disappointed that it didn't work.

But that's not the fault of Cybook. Rather it's the fault of the library for adding complexity to the already-to-be-despised DRM!!!!
