Yes, I also live in Australia and have been waiting for what seemed like ages to get my hands on an ereader. I have always been an avid reader and have shelves of very geeky books (philosophy, ancient Greek & Latin and other gripping must-reads!). The Kobo really makes life much easier as I can take a whole library with me where ever I go. Perhaps we can also claim back some living space and get rid of some less loved paper books!
