Hi Charlie and others, I am using Windows 7 and have about 140 books on my reader. I don't have any collections on my reader as I use Calibre (which I love) to monitor my collection and I am using the latest version of Calibre. I have tried it this morning and it is working perfectly and I have transferred 3 more books, so I don't understand why I have this intermittent problem. Fingers crossed that everything will be OK in the future.
