I missed a Return one year (this was when I was employed). I fully expected to get an audit or something, but they just ignored it and moved on (mind you, with deductions it probably saved
them money).

That's basically what'll happen to me. They estimated by income for 2009-2010 last year based on the previous year, and billed me quarterly for the tax on it (PAYG). Turns out I didn't earn that much this year, so I've overpaid. I still like to pretend it's a "bonus" though.
