Hi all,
About a year ago I bought the "100 Classic Book Collection" for the Nintendo DS. I didn't expect much from it, I just thought it might be a good way to pass the hours on long flights. But to my great surprise I actually enjoyed the DS reading experience almost as much as I enjoyed a physical, bound book. Since then I began to seriously investigate e-ink ereaders.
The choice is very limited in Australia and I wasn't willing to spend money on something I couldn't try out first, but with the introduction of the Kobo and the Sony PRS-650 I was fianlly able to play with these devices.
So I bought one of each! A Kobo for my wife and the PRS-650 for me. Both of us agree that it is actually a more pleasant reading experience than a paper book. Perhaps its because the font size can be adjsute to the most comfortable size. Whatever the reason may be, I'm hooked! It was a big psychological hurdle for me to buy my first "intangible" book (Terry Pratchett, "I shall wear midnight") but from now on I will be buying ebooks over pbooks whenever possible.
Thanks very much to all the mobileread forum members. Your shared wisdom was most helpful to me!
