I have a Kobo and love it. I've purchased books and also checked out a few from the library. I got one for my wife, too, and she loves hers. We discovered Shayne Parkinson's series of books about a woman in New Zealand, and it was particularly her cup of tea...could hardly get her to do anything until she reached the end!
Sadly, my Kobo's screen broke. Kobo has generously offered a replacement but we're nudging up to two weeks and I haven't seen it. FedEx was estimating a delivery date of 9/30, but that's the date my vacation begins and I won't be at work to receive it. Also...the tracking number has suddenly become "invalid." Sigh.
I bought a Kindle at Target on Sunday and wrapped it up for my wife to give me as a birthday present. I figured that, since I was buying another reader just as insurance against the Kobo not arriving in time (with vacations, one hemorrhages so much money that a $150 purchase doesn't loom so large in the mind), I figured I'd go with the competing format just to cover my bases. I'm curious about the Kindle experience.
