Device: Kindle 3, Nook Color
I chose the Kindle 3 because the Nook was so very heavy. Also, the touch screen on it seemed more annoying than the Kindle's keyboard and pretty erratic when in use. The Kindle seemed a bit faster on page turns and both have lovely perle ink screens that are easy to read in the evening.
I have converted my epubs and rtf's from my Jetbook to mobi and transferred and set up collections on the Kindle 3. Very easy to do and now there is a third party software available to facilitate this function. I love the light smaller size of the Kindle 3, reminding me of my Jetbook, which is being retired ONLY for evening use.
