I’m probably about the only one interested in the results and most people just think it’s an inappropriate/stupid poll but I must say that I’m surprised by the results thus far. The current percentages (80% Yes and 20% No) are about the opposite of what I would have guessed.

My family often teases me because I’m always walking around with a book but it’s generally been a different book. If my new Cybook is going to be my constant faithful companion for the next 3 years she’s going to have to learn how to take a bath and change her clothes every once in a while, or rather I’m going to learn how to give her a proper bath without damaging her delicate inner workings.

It raises some design issues when I think about future generations of electronic reading devices that will target replacing magazines and newspapers. Maybe the correct answer is to get a display cheap enough that it stays in the bathroom and you wirelessly transmit a few pages of content to it. We already have the Japanese style toilets with the control console maybe we just need a fold out screen too. 

If nothing else in the future I’m going to go wash my hands after I try out someone else’s electronic reader.
