I'm surprised calibre, when using the Welcome Wizard that asks the user where to put the calibre library, doesn't post a warning to not use a folder containing books to be put on calibre (or something like that). The same warning (or a similar one) should also be posted if a user tries to add a book and save it into the same folder it came from. That would reduce the number of complaints of original libraries getting messed up by calibre.
