Well, ePub rendering on the cybook is right now, better then sony's. At least bookeen know the meaning of justified !
Amazon can't use a decent e-book format. (mobi is quite limited compared to what ePub can do).

Why, because amazon and sony are the big ones, they are necessarily be better ?

Unless you're really lucky, there's no perfect reader. It's all about compromises.
In edge case, pocketbook seams the way to go. prc support for old files, ePub support to buy new books, dictionary support. There, pocketbook is the only one offering all this, and that make pocketbook better for edge oh, and remember, mobi support on pocketbook is drm-free only.
