You can call a Ford a Ford, and everyone knows you're talking about a car. Simply say "F-150" and some won't know if you're talking about a truck, a camera setting, or a fighter jet.
Call a Sony Reader a Sony Reader, so everyone knows that you're talking about first. Worry about the specific model, if you have to, after that's established.
