Could you express this more clearly.
AFAIK the current beta is the only version that lets you make collections based on user defined tags but I could be wrong.

If the poster is trying to use custom columns to create collections it may not be possible yet. But if the poster is using regular tags then by default calibre should be creating collections on the 650 based on tags and series.
