I went to Best Buy last night to return my prs-900 and sitting on the shelf was one prs-350 and about 6 prs-300's. The 650 did not have a price on it and there were no signs on the display about it..I just took it to the register and bought it. I wonder if I bought the one they were supposed to put up as their display model?
Anyway, they ALSO had Kindle 3's on display..
This was the Best Buy in Emeryville, CA.
I didn't really think I'd like the 350 as I am waiting on the 950, but honestly the 350 is much nicer to read on than the Kindle 3 or the Nook I have. It's making me really rethink how much I value internet access vs. small easy to hold/comfortable reader. I love the Kindle 3's functionality, no real complaints even about the browser, but it's very unbalanced feeling in my hands, tough to hold one handed. I also think the font on the Sony is much easier to read than the Kindle font...FWIW
One negative about the 350 so far is that it takes a LONG time to open books...even if I've already opened that book. By long I mean 15-20 seconds for a 900 page book. The Kindle 3 opens them instantly. Page turns on the K3 are slightly faster as well (but not enough to make a diff to me). The 350 wins in the touch screen UI though!..
