This is my cue to say "when I was young..." Pfft!

Anyway, they used to wait until after Thanksgiving (late November for non-Yanks) to put up all the Christmas stuff, but we're starting to see it now. But people will put off the lights until after Halloween, because they need to put up Halloween lights! (They're mostly orange with some other colors, e.g. purple and green, in case you were wondering.)
