If you 'd like to write adulatory posts on some win 7 tablet, write them on a blog or something, this really isn't a place for free promo and banishing of opposing views.

And of course like others have said, you can hardly sustain interest with no actual product at hand...
Fact remains Apple themselves (known for last minute revelations) have opted to show off a product almost 2-3 months ahead of available date. And, this (Slate) is not vapourware. I just came back here to say I am unsubscribing from this thread as all I have happening here are pro/against iOS comments.... BUT HERE'S MY FINAL RANT ... Mobile OSs in general have their place (regardless of it is android, iOS or WM7 or Meego or WebOS). Paranoia and business protectionism can only go on for so long before people get tired. The more welcoming and less restrictive you get, the more profits and market share you see longer term. Mobile OSs have a lifetime of about 5 yrs right now. Beyond that there is no prediction. Nor is there a guarantee that you will sell any devices unless your OS has changed dramatically. The iPad can't play HD videos (720p on VLC app throws a warning and if you ignore that, you get close to 1 frame per 8 seconds or so). If you value sleekness, battery life and are fine with workarounds, suck it up and live with the iPad. If not, adjust to the Slate. EXOPC UI will take care of your "windows7 not made for touch" worries. Sayonara.
