I had the very same problem just last month. Several good people came to my rescue with the solution.

From the 'advanced' reply form, select the YouTube icon. (Sounds as if you got this far already.)

From the video's URL select ONLY the part after the final '=' sign, as follows;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRwaVanPTDE
Cut and past that part only between the youtube brackets, as in;
[YOUTUBE.]bRwaVanPTDE[/YOUTUBE.]
(I added some extra periods in the brackets
so you could see what it should look like.)
Sometimes it will be numbers, sometimes letters, sometimes both.

The result should be;




THAT should get you an embedded video. To be sure, check it with a 'Preview Post'
