I think most religions have a few members who believe their way is the only right way, and is everything that is good. It isn't the religion that is bad, it's the few that take it to the extreme that make it seem bad. Christianity isn't the only one, though it gets bashed often.

Yes, there were the Crusades, and the witch hunts, but not every Christian followed along with them, just as not every Christian today feels like shooting everyone they even suspect is a Muslim. By the same token, Not every Muslim believes that Americans need to die, though a few have declared a jihad.
