My daughter thought she was getting shin splints and calf cramps.

Nohmi, we have a letter from the doctor. I'll type it below.

"***** was evaluated today for continued pain in her right lower leg. A compartment compression test revealed significant Exercise Induced Compartment Syndrome. Very simply put her athletic participation is suspended until further notice. We will re-evaluate her sumptomatically in three weeks. She may march in the band provided she remains symptom free. Other than that NO activity is required until her symptoms completely subside or further treatment is carried out.

Thank you for your help in this potentially very serious matter."

So there is wiggle room. I'll be at her school tomorrow, and plan on having a meeting with the coach, the athletic director and the principal of the school. We were smart enough to keep copies of the letter before she gave it to the coaches. We know exactly what the school rules are, because my husband is also a coach and we are very aware of what this coach is allowed to do.

The reason I haven't been to the school already is that she lives in a different town, with my sister, so she can finish her senior year with her friends.
