iPod touch is etched and even my cheap $40 Sansa Clip+ is printed on the device under the clip. The gadgets I have with stickers are under the battery covers and difficult to accidentally mistake for a UPC/price tag that should be removed.

I've seen the Sonys and they look like barcodes that should be removed. Nowhere on the sticker does it say it's a serial number and that it shouldn't be removed.

For the prices Sony charges, a few extra pennies for etching won't kill them.
