I DO want my children taught evolutionary theory. It is the theory that best explains the development of species that exists today. And as a Christian I see no conflict between the biblical account and the scientific theory. Now would you like me, a fellow Christian, to be teaching religious values to your children? The differences between religious perceptions and doctrines even within Christianity is just more reason for government to stay out of teaching values and religion.

Oh yes, if you are a christian, then I wouldn't mind placing my kids in your care....its some measure of comfort. But I think you've got it all backwards... why not have your government teach the basic religious values, and you teach your kids evolution. Anyway the religious values are timeless and been around for centuries. Evolution isn't even worked out yet and they keep changing their mind about the details. Its a question of priorities, and surely teaching about Jesus and his sacrifice is much more important than some speculative scientific theory. Not everyone needs to learn advanced philosophy, not everyone needs to learn about Islam, not everybody needs to learn mathematics or the branches of science..... Everyone needs to learn about Jesus. Surely thats right...........
