Yes it is easy just to buy books from Amazon via wifi on Kindle. I f you use 3g however in my experience could be a very slow process and sometimes would not download depending on signal reception etc. Kobo has a fast decent desktop app and mobile phone app making purchase and download simples, then just side load onto reader when you are ready. I can also use my Android phone to continue reading where I left off on my reader when out and about if I left the reader at home.
