From your example, the Sony takes the text as-is and displays it. I just loaded up that exact same Gutenberg text into FBReader and it displays much better. It seems that FBReader uses a little smarts when dealing with plain text files. So, it looks like converting text files is almost required on the Sony. Hmm, that's a question I'll have to ask over in the Cybook forum.
