The Kindle seems to be a better device (I've never used one but I'm going from what I've read)

Does the Kindle accept Calibre conversions well?
Does the battery life really excel over the nook?

Remember that all the books you have bought from B&N are DRM protected. If you want to convert those books to Mobipocket to read them on the Kindle you will have to remove the DRM.
