FWIW, that post you were referencing sounded perfectly "normal" to me. I don't know about your part of the country, but in mine, you can't throw a rock without hitting someone who thinks and acts just like that-- and the rock will bounce off them and hit another one. That is exactly the type of religious person that makes atheists sneer, and like I referenced in my post #11. It isn't intelligent, clear-spoken, educated religious people that make atheists mock religion-- it is people like that poster.
