Hi!
I just stumbled over Calibre, and it rocks! It beats my hodgepodge of ABC Amber converters and all those other labour intensive utilities by such a distance, I just wish I had found it sooner...
Some smart programming there, and I'm not even using half of the features so far... Just being able to download meta info and cover art from the internet is way cool.
Both bugs I found are actually related to the download function.
1) For downloading meta data, there is no way to enter the key for ISBNDB first, so, if the google books search times out / fails for any reason, the search box exits without an opportunity to put in the key.
Easiest fix would seem to let people enter their ISBNDB keys somewhere in the preferences dialog?
2) When downloading book covers, there appears to be a condition under which a download or connect failure is not handled, and so the Edit Meta Information Dialog box hangs with the spinning download symbol in the center. There is no way to get the application's attention to tell it to cancel the download. It hangs unrecoverably and after letting Windows 7 close it, you lost any info entered for that book.
Note: this error does not seem to occur in the download meta data function.
With either download function, it would be nice if the user could actually cancel out of them.
Got a question too, is there a way to have the ISBN show up in a column in Calibre's list view?
What language is this written in, btw? From the looks of things, its seems like you made it nicely modular
PS: using Calibre 0.7.18 on Windows 7
