In the alley outside the Casino, Bois Aussi and Slite were having a quiet smoke up and trying to remember why they were there.

"Do you suppose that we might get done with this project before the snow starts flying again?"

"Mais oui! But only because this is the tropics and snow does not fly here." Bois Aussi flicked a bit of lint from his shirt front. "It would be nice, however, to have at least a minimal plot thread on which to proceed."

"That's unlikely." Slite sniffed around the steps to the back of the Casino. "Heh. That Vivaldi is rather funny! I think he'll make a good story teller some day."

"Where did that German woman and the Japanese fellow get off to?"

"They said something about screw the residuals and went over to the cantina across the street for a beer."

"Well, I hope they find their way back for the big explosion scene. It would be rather pointless without them."

"We can only hope."
