I am frankly surprised and shocked that everyone's favourite writer, Amanda McKittrick Ros, doesn't seem to be available in any available ebook format!
Her astonishing abilities with alliteration shouldn't be lost to lisuese owners everywhere..
An example to the uninitiated:
"The living sometimes learn the touchy tricks of the traitor, the tardy and the tempted; the dead have evaded the flighty earthy future, and form to swell the retinue of retired rights, the righteous school of the invisible and the rebellious roar of the raging nothing."
As one of the favourite authors of Tolkien, C.S. Lewis and company in the Inklings, we all deserve to be able to read her astonishing novels. Irene Iddesleigh, Delina Delany and Helen Huddleston should be kept for posterity, as should her poetry, which is just amazing:
Go! Meet the foe undaunted, they're rotten cowards all,
Present to them the bayonet, they totter and they fall,
We know you'll do your duty and come to little harm
And if you meet the Kaiser, cut off his other arm.
Usually I don't ask for ebooks in the Lounge but I figured her special talents would be best appreciated here!
