At least you got more of an answer than I did. All I got was a parrot response saying that my Kindle will ship 21 or 22 Sept and expected delivery will be 27 Sept. And my order did lock on the page now too, I wonder if me email prompted them to lock me up? Probably just a coincidence though.
If they serve each customer base differently it should say so on the website. I have no problem waiting, I was prepared to wait anyway, but I did expect them to honour their word and serve us in order, regardless of shipping preference.
