These kinds of problems afflict every device - just check in any of the device forums on MR for a 'troubleshooting' thread. If you want to raise your chances of not encountering a problem, it's probably best to wait a few months after a new device is released to give the manufacturers a chance to smooth out any gremlins.

People will percieve Amazon's product as being of lower build quality because it is sold for a cheaper price. This is a misperception.

Not nice to be one of the few who gets one with issues, though. Hope Amazon sort out a new device for you as quickly and painlessly as they have for others.
