First, I don't really have any needs other than basic reading and organization. I already owned a Kindle but wanted a second reader that read library book. The Sony PRS-505 had a large loyal following and seemed more reliable than many other readers.

Then once I got my Sony, I found that I loved how it fit seamlessly in my handbag compared to the earlier Kindles. And that I could buy a cover with a built in light for it. The metal casing makes it feel solid. I've recently found that I prefer a 6" screen over a 5" screen.

I should note that I bought my mom a Jetbook last year. I didn't go with the Lite because I don't like having to replace batteries (I don't even like changing my book battery light). You can't beat a new Jetbook for the price...but I preferred the feel and battery life of my Sony.
