I understand, but there is a difference in saying "Robert is no longer with the company and I'm here to help you" and "Robert has retired and we've opened a new web forum and ..."
Particularly given the presence and personal nature of Robert in this forum. If it were really true then he retired, he would have announced that to us himself.
