Once I read about a woman who used an XBox to attack a thief who invaded her house. Don't remember which version, if it was the original or the 360, but either way it's a much much more effective weapon than the Kindle.
Of course, you can't just hide an XBox under your jacket and attack someone by surprise, in that case the Kindle could be a good weapon.
It's very light, but it's very thin, and a good blow to the neck will do some damage, or at least cause a lot of pain.
