After reading through all the comments, I started to think about those authors who write under other names for specific genres. Maybe, because of a perceived bias?

Males who write under a female name for romance or cozy mystery, etc.

Females who write under a male name for something other than romance, chick lit, etc.

Sometimes, it is not always easy to find out if they are.
