I've read all of these and found them very enjoyable. Definitely more intelligently written than your average bestseller. It's a shame that Larsson is being compared to Dan Brown. Yes, they're both mysteries, and they've sold a ton of copies, but Larsson is MUCH better than Brown.
It's kind of a shame that they're so popular, I think the hype machine makes people much more critical of a book. I don't pay much attention to the bestseller lists, more just try to find books by authors I like, or follow recommendations from folks (that's how I stumbled on Larsson.) I know with movies, the more it's hyped, the more skeptical I've become. I put off seeing "Titanic" and "The Sixth Sense" for years because of all the hype. When I finally got around to seeing them, I thought "meh" of both. I probably would have liked them a lot better if I'd managed to see them without having any preconceived notions.
