Yes, exactly.

This device will only be good for the ebook-techno-geek that can strip DRM and convert books. It doesn't even come with it's own software but tells you to go find calibre on the internet to do the job it should have done. But the ebook-techno-geek market probably wants a device that is more customizable....

I could never give this to my Mom and expect her to buy/load books on it. I could easily give her a Kindle/Sony/Nook and she could get her own books.

Hopefully they give this a firmware update to support epub and Adobe DRM. Then at least non-technies can buy books from Sony/Kobo and take out library books. That would still leave the 2G limitation on book storage, but I suspect that is much less of a problem to most people. I just love having my entire library with me so I can read whatever I'm in the mood for next.
