Hm... I think either I didn't made my point clear, or maybe that it wasn't receivable?

idle ~ Yes, in fact they do. A misplaced way to support open source. A way to make it a way of life. Instead of what I believe it's meant to be, a way to open up programming barricades. (Even if I think architects benefit more from it.)
+ poly ~ I can, as most of us, only support a new program with input, beta test and "material support". So the two first are a moot points (ie 1) take it or 2) leave it) and the third is non-existent (write it yourself).

And when it's such major parts that are just ignored I can't but presume that OI is made by people that doesn't care for their users at all. Or rather care nought for their product! 'Cause as it stands right now it's all that work down the drain.
If you can't hook it up nor borrow or buy books then it's a dead firmware for an e-book reader.
And that I feel is extremely sad.

Yes, I still have an open mind towards open source. I would like to find a middle ground... Between intellectual property and communal effort. But that's quite not the topic right here.

So... any other firmware out there?
