What is the Best Covers of the Year Contest and Sweepstakes?
The Best Covers of the Year Contest honors the most memorable, compelling, and iconic covers of the last 12 months. The 72 finalists were selected from over 250 submissions and judged by a group of over 30 editors, art directors, and photo editors. The covers selected provide a vibrant snapshot of American culture, celebrity, and political preoccupations.
This year, you're invited to help decide who will win the best cover award in each of twelve categories, as well as who will win the ultimate prize. If you've already voted, you've also been entered for a chance to win one of 30 Kindles. If you haven't yet voted, learn more.
How Do I Vote? How Do I Enter the Sweepstakes?
The Best Covers Contest is divided into two rounds, and in the first round, you receive one entry for each category you vote in (up to 12 entries--one per category). In the second round (see below), you receive another entry for voting for the final winner. The first round takes place between September 1 and September 20, 2010. During this round, six finalists in each category compete for the Best Cover in their category. By submitting your votes in this round, you'll automatically be entered in the sweepstakes for a chance to win one of 30 Kindles. NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY for entry into the sweepstakes. You can only vote and enter once in each round.
During the second and final round, September 21 to September 30, 2010, the category winners from the first round will compete for the ultimate prize: the Best Cover of the Year. By submitting your vote in this round, you can receive another entry in the sweepstakes.
The final winning cover of the Best Covers of the Year Contest will be announced by the MPA/ASME in Chicago on October 3, 2010. For more information on how the winners of the Kindles will be notified, please see the official sweepstakes rules.
How Will I Know If I Win a Kindle?
All winning customers will be notified by October 15, 2010. Please note that anyone can vote, but certain restrictions on winning a Kindle do apply. Please see the official sweepstakes rules for more details.
