I deal with international copyright law as a part of my job. I assure you that what I've told you is correct. All that you need concern yourself with is what is or is not in the public domain in Sweden, and EU copyright law is very straightforward in this circumstance: works enter the public domain at the start of the year following the 70th anniversary of the death of the author.

Of course, you may wish to consult a lawyer specialising in copyright law to verify this.
