As for tubal ligation, it leaves the levels of sex hormone unchanged, and they keep their normal reproductive behavior. It seems more humane. I'm surprised more vets don't offer the choice in addition to spaying. I'm sure Norton would be more pleased with a female whose sexual behavior was unaltered. There are the additional problems for the owners (like spraying), but that just goes with the territory. I could live with that in exchange for two happier animals.

female dogs wouldn't give a flying fellatio about being spayed. they are not any more happy about/with life than any human female with a REALLY bad/hormonal menustral cycle.
