@esw I have a lot of respect for webos and palm. But in terms of strategy they messed it up, what the heck was the foleo about? Unsurprisingly a lot of fomer employees at apple, and of course the chief exec for it, worked on it. I hope some of the talent there is salvaged by hp and a product does arise. Of course I don't trust hp at all, but it's a good sign they ditched ms for their tablet, shows that some people are finally thinking with their heads.
btw, get icab or (ahhhh) I don't recall the other browsers name, instead of safari, both great browsers with so many excellent features. I esp. like icab. Look if you want to keep your jb, just don't upgrade. What can apple do? Cater for both those who want to hack the heck out of the device (and I respect that) and those who want it to be functional with minimum time invested in tweaking it? Surely you understand they can't do both. Give them at least some credit for allowing you to jb. Could you jb ms office or ms windows and hack the heck out of it? Of course you couldn't.
So why don't you complain about that? Apple could have instigated ms type checks and activation codes and all that jazz and bricked your jailbroken phone/ipad as ms do with software that is tampered with. Yet they don't. They don't even delete apps that somehow passed from the app store (tethering app) and were later withdrawn, although they could. The average laptop/tablet sold comes with a layer of manufacturers crapware, bloatware, adware, antiviruses etc. etc. I know I 've had a few. Yet apple doesn't have any of that, so how is forcing junk on users? Mobile carriers and companies take android, and soon, mobile 7, and force on top of them all sorts of junkware and restrictions (that's why skype only runs on verizon android phones...) by their brand, be it sony, motorolla, etc. Apple, again, doesn't do any of that.

. This has got to be the most misguided claims I have ever read on apple, and I 've read a lot.
1. Nope they didn't steal it, they ask for permission to use it, non other than apple saw the potential then. Apple did. Xerox park was open to all, why didn't others or xerox themselves commercialize it, because they didn't see the potential? So, wrong.
2. This has got to be the most preposterous lie I 've read on the iphone. Kudos though for sheer propagandist inventiveness. The origins of the iphone are in the newton (as with the ipad) way back and further than anything ms thought of. And if ms was working on a touch phone before apple how come they created their half baked mobile os's for dumb phones with buttons and with a desktop paradigm? Like I said, this has go to be the most shameless lie I've read on the iphone...
3. Yeah there's nothing to the ipod, that's why apple owns the market since it's inception with 70% or so sales. Really nothing to it, anyone could do it, ms could, samsung could...oh wait but they didnt? And of course anyone could have invented the clickwheel then, another interface first...oh wait no one did!
4.Sure, anything you say, linux is a unix clone so that's worthless too, actually there are a multitude of unix compatible os's all stemming from the same great unix concept used and developed in academia and business for years, but of course they are worthless because you say so. Let alone that apple has a few thousand patents and innovations on top of that. Yes, like quicktime that ms was found had copied code VERBATIM in the windows media player and apple took them to court, only for ms to settle and strategically offer to release office for the mac to appease apple.
5. The ipad is the early work of ms, hahahahah, this is for belly laughs. It's apple's newton and the message pad (so now you now why histrorically they used that name (pad) again). And if it's ms's work how come ms sadly doesn't have anything to show for it again, absolutely ludicrous.
Having said that I really do envy your gall is writing these...unbelievable. Like I said I 've never read such concentrated blatant lies on apple ever.
