I've been thinking about that feature for a while. It's fairly common in search dialogs than support regexes. Add it to the tracker so I don't forget.
Actually, I have been wanting a variation of #1 to "clean-up" really long
file manes (some created by Calibre conversions)
Rename selected files with auto sequence: In my example I want the name prefix: "c"
followed by 2 digits (pad 0)
start: 2

for the selected (see mock-up) files.
(many ripping tools have this built in to override the default track naming:track_01...)
