Most astronomical telescopes produce inverted images. Orientation is entirely arbitrary for such things, so there's really no "right way up". The Great Red Spot is in Jupiter's southern hemisphere, but if you look at photographs of it you'll find it's pretty much 50:50 which "way up" the photograph is.
