I got an ereader because books were taking control of me.
I went on trip to Syria with 12 books in my suitcase, and even than I had to borrow my co-travellers books.
Also my books are three layers deep in my bookcases and that makes looking for the right one a lengthy affaire.
As I'm pathetically careful with my books and I always had one with me; I put it in a plastic sandwichbag for fear it would get wrinkles................not cool at all.
So now I've all my books on my ereader with me all the time, and people ask me all the time: what's that you're carrying....a computer/telephone/laptop/typewriter? So it does much for my social life as well.
