It got some bad reviews on Amazon, and I hesitated buying it for that very reason.

Still, I managed to spit watermelon juice all over my K1 screen laughing at unexpected places. Took me exactly one day to read, and the only thing that makes me unhappy is that I'll have to wait probably another year before her next one comes out.

This just goes to show what I've always known....reviews are personal opinions, and people need to decide for themselves if a book is good or bad.
I hardly ever read reviews...and Stephanie Plum's adventures are on my TBR mountain. I read the first two and found them hilarious. Watermelon juice, hmm? Would have liked to have seen that!

I missed that the book club selected a book, I think I'll pick up "Killing Floor" from the library since I've enjoyed the other Reacher novels I've read.

This weekend I'm getting a library card from a library that has ebooks. So excited!
I picked that one up at the library. They didn't have the whole series, so I just read that one, and am intending to search out the rest of the series, eventually.

Just started "The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox" by Maggie O'Farrell. Can't remember where I saw it reviewed, but it looked really interesting. It's beautifully written and I'm finding it hard to put down, even when it's late, I'm tired and my eyes are burning from being too long on the computer all day.
I loved The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society! I learned a ton about the German occupation, as you say, and also found out I seem to have a weakness for books that have letters written back and forth between the characters.

Just finished Simon R. Green's new one, "Ghost of a Chance" . I was kind of disappointed, it wasn't as good as I had hoped. Too bloody for me, I think. I have "The Anteater of Death" by Betty Webb started, (wanted something lighter after all that blood), but I'm having trouble getting into it. I don't think it's the book, I think it's me.
