Welcome Back Derek. Here is hoping that you have a speedy recovery.

This sounds like a great reason for getting a K3. "Honey, I need the K3 because you don't know when I might end up in the hospital for a long period of time and I need to have my books with me. The battery life is twice that of my K2. Talk about peace of mind."
