I gotta agree with the suggestion for the use of folders. We bought two CoolERs over a year ago and it respected folders so our 1000+ volume ebook library was sorted into fiction/nonfiction (I have a ton of software engineering books), then by author. When the CoolERs started acting flaky last weekend I decided to get us a couple of Nooks because if anything went wrong we could return them locally.

So imagine our surprised when we put our collection on these things (part of it anyway) and then had to page through 75 pages of books in seemingly random order. Since the author was not consistently picked up from format to format, that could not be used to find a book reliably. Also, since the titles were even worse (some variations were like "Running with the Demon, Terry Brooks", "ebook - Running with the Demon", "1. Running with the Demon", "The Word and the Void - Running with the Demon" and...well you get the idea). So all of our work to carefully sort the books came to nothing.

That said, once the Nook is pointed at the right book, it does well as long as we use .epub format. .TXT files and PDF didn't fare as well. This is one area the CoolER kicked booty on. All of the folders were reflected in the browse list so the same search would take no more than 4-5 page clicks (3 to the right section/author/book series and then maybe a couple to get to the book).

One other thing I wanted to point out about the Nook is the same thing wrong (and only thing IMHO) with my smartphone: the extended microSD storage can only be accessed by taking the cover off (in the cell phone (XPeria X10) you had to do that and take out the battery first too. PITA.

I guess one more thing for the wish-list would be the ability to name bookmarks...

That said, in general we love the idea of ereaders and have read a lot more since getting them...
