From what I see on the link to exopc.com, I don't see very much different than what I'm using now.
For me the appeal is not the "heavy-duty computing" as you put it, for me the appeal is full functionality with no restrictions of any kind. I need USB and SDHC, I must be able to copy/paste with no restrictions, I must have a full file browser, I need to be able to play/open any file I throw at it. At the current time it seems only a full OS will do...
