I'm always surprised people get all excited over a tablet/mid/slate device running a full-blown OS (such as Windows 7) as a great option to read ebooks and such on. I've owned several such devices and currently have a great little convertible tablet which runs Windows XP. Devices such as these are fantastic for doing your heavy-duty computing work on... that's what the OS is all about. But as far as being a great little ebook reader; email reader; website viewer; and such, I find that my quick little 'instant on' devices which run Wince, Android, ipod, are what I reach for when I'm not needing more processing power. In other words, if the OS has to boot from a hard drive, then it's probably not the best system for ebook reading in general.
The ExoPC might end-up being a great new device which is more similar to an ipad than to a Windows 7 laptop, I don't know yet, but from 15 years experience with very similar devices, I'm quite skeptical at this point. From what I see on the link to exopc.com, I don't see very much different than what I'm using now.
