Just to clarify, you can also read non-amazon ebooks on you Kindle for PC app so long as they are in a Kindle format such as mobi files. Kindle for PC will create a folder called My Kindle Content (or similar) in your My Documents folder and this is where the ebooks are stored. Can't quite remember whether the Kindle for PC app automatically detects ebooks in the folder or whether you double-click on them. It's been a long time since I've used it.
