Yes, with the "Dingo" firmware update the battery life seems to have improved indeed. But, as you both say, it's a heavy device for deskreading in eInk
and working with the lcd-side simultaneously and a class of it's own. Pricewise it'll never be attractive to the broad market in the EU anyway.
And it really does depend on your special needs which device you should choose ...
